Song and Silence Winter Retreat
Honoring Dark and Light

A full day, in-person retreat
Saturday, December 5th 2026
Black Mountain, NC
9:30am – 4pm

Winter.

It is the darkest time of year before the solstice turns the wheel to bring back the light. This sacred time of rest, slowing down, and retreat calls to be honored. What can this time of year teach us?

We gather to honor the dark and the light in early December together. We honor the transformation that comes through song and silence in the belly of winter. We honor the power of movement and stillness through yin yoga and breathwork, song and sacred intentional silence.

Are you yearning for a day to reconnect to the deeper parts of yourself? Are you hoping to find time in the busy winter schedule to slow down and remember what really matters? Would you like to devote a Saturday in December to nourish the roots of your life and gather in community to sing and sit in mystery?

If so, join Saskia Meckman, Katie Patton, and Amy Wright Glenn for a full-day in-person retreat in Black Mountain, North Carolina, on Saturday, December 5.

Together, Saskia, Katie, and Amy will weave their wisdom, crafting a container of safety, discovery, joy, reflection, and peace for all who gather. This is a time to honor the dark and the light.

This is a time to raise our voices in song and nourish our spirits in silence.

Ten percent of revenue earned after taxes will be donated to Doctors Without Borders, an organization doing so much good in the world to lift up the basic care and needs of those in places of conflict.

Saskia Meckman (she/her) is a Registered Yoga Teacher, a Reiki Practitioner, a Coach, and Retreat Facilitator

Born in the US to an Ecuadorian mother and a Dutch/Austrian/Danish father, Saskia grew up in Europe from the age of 5 years old. She attended school, learning the languages and experiencing first-hand the cultures in France, Germany, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands for the following 14 years until she returned to the US for college.

Saskia was first introduced to yoga in 1994, on a whim, thanks to her brother. Over the years, she has studied, received certifications, and attended workshops and conferences with a wide variety of yoga and meditation instructors, influencing both her life and her teachings. Saskia holds certifications in Kripalu Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Radiant Child Yoga, Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga, and Yin Yoga. As a lifelong learner and believer in a growth mindset, she continues to study and learn, weaving these practices into her Mindful Yin Yoga class.

Saskia has spent 25 years training and coaching global executives and their families relocating internationally, assisting them in creating smooth transitions – taking yoga off the mat and into daily life. She holds a BS from Tufts University, MA in Child Psychology and Education with a minor in Dance and a Masters in Intercultural and International Management with a focus on HR and Training from School for International Training (SIT), VT.  She now brings these combined experiences to her students in her yoga classes and retreats, assisting them through all transitions in life.

Katie Patton (she/her) is a ceremonialist, teacher, herbalist, doula, singer of songs, dancer of dances, and dreamer of dreams.

Katie lives on the unceded ancestral lands of the Cherokee people in what we refer to as Swannanoa, NC. There she grows a bountiful garden, abundant with food and medicine. Katie listens deeply to the land, which holds us through these times, and does her best to live in the spirit of reciprocity. Katie has long been called to stand as a guardian at the gates between life, death and rebirth. She’s humbled to serve these thresholds and reverently celebrates the potency of transformation found in such liminal places. Learn more about Katie and her offerings via her website liminalbounty.com
