Psychedelic assisted therapy for the dying is an evidence based practice gaining momentum in death doula circles and beyond. Legal advocates work to open doors for the dying who choose to benefit from this form of palliative care which can reduce existential distress in the face of death.
Death doulas, and all who work with the dying, can better serve their communities when they are more clearly informed with regard to the implications this research and advocacy.
This is a 6-hour online course centered upon the following:
*Four hours of in-depth teaching/discussion with Institute founder/director Amy Wright Glenn of Michael Pollan’s NYTimes #1 bestselling book How to Change your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us about Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence.
*Hour-long interview with Kathryn Tucker, a leading legal expert in the field of expanding the legal rights of the dying to include the palliative use of psychedelic support
*Hour-long interview with the Reverend Bodhi Be, a well known death doula trainer and spiritual guide who recently hosted a conference in Maui on the topic of psychedelics and dying.
All participants will need to read How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence.
Modules are recorded. One need not join live to complete this course.
